Large North American snakes with golden-tan coloration. Powerful but docile. Intermediate care.

40-gallon breeder minimum (larger for large individuals). Robust construction.

Warm side: 85-88°F. Cool side: 75-80°F. Thermal gradient.

Low to moderate (40-60%). Provide water bowl. Good ventilation.

12:12 light/dark cycle. UVB beneficial. Not required.

Mice, small rats, small rabbits. Large appetites. Feed every 7-10 days.

Docile and manageable. Can hiss defensively but rarely bite. 1-2 times weekly.

Hardy species. Watch for obesity, mites. Live 15-20+ years.
